One thing I never thought I would write about is football. And yet, here am I. Writing about football as it was an opportunity too good to pass (see, I even made a football joke!).

Some time ago I wrote about Al-Andalus. And as some of you might already know, history has always been very interesting to me. So, when a friend of mine shared a photo of the Moroccan football team taking down countries in their bid for the World Cup championship, my earlier blog text came to mind.

I was very amused by this map as it clearly states which countries the Moroccan team needs to beat in the cup… Numbers one and two have already fallen, and France is the next one on the list.

Do I need to say anything about the historical significance of the map and the Moors, or shall we just enjoy some football for now?
